I scored a 98 on the BARBRI simulated MBE, worked on improving the worst areas, and ended up passing the bar with a higher score on the MBE compared to the essays. Also, I nailed the MPTs while studying, but ended up with the worst possible score on the real thing. Still passed. There is definitely a % of people who don't do the simulated mbe within the proper time parameters, or look at outside for for help during. This is really good. From what I've read getting around 60-65 percent correct on the MBE is the threshold for passing that section, so you're right there already.

If it makes you feel any better, I received a similar simulated score and went into the bar exam averaging about 50-60% on barbri’s practice quizzes. I was so scared but I got a 149.6 on the multiple choice in October. (In Illinois.) Not cool, Barbri. Depends on jurisdiction. MBE: Barbri simulated 143, actual MBE 160 - this was not necessarily surprising as my Adaptibar scores steadily increased after the simulated MBE. After you take the Simulated MBE, you mostly will nee an Associate 10. In short: yes. Barbri and other bar preps use former test questions which all have a sliding scale of difficulty, that range from true bar-difficulty to those wacky absolutely hard tester questions that the majority of bar takers fail and their scores are adjusted accordingly.
