The Zweihander is very situational against alot of the annoying enemies the game tends to throw at you with its slam down. It's slam down doesn't even requite two-handing as it can be done with one hand.

The claymore is a decent weapon but for a strength build the zweihander is better in almost every way. I understand using it at the start because of the lower strength requirement but i see people using it through to the end of the game.
