Posted April 29, 2022. If you want to turn a cool steam vent output into cool (<20°C) Oxygen, here is what I quickly put together : Steam comes out 110°C, gets heated by AT, then turned into 95°C water to feed the electrolyzers. 95°C Oxygen comes out and gets cooled in the radiator over the turbine; this radiator is the AT coolant loop.Great video! But I the currently have a steam vent in my seed that outputs 3.2Kgs of steam at 500°. That's alot of heat. Right now, I have 2 problems: The central part is easilly reaching 250°, which leads to the steam turbine to not be 100% efficient. My system hasn't reached equilibrium, and I fear I might not be deleting enough heat right now.

Even if started in a vacuum, it won't overheat. Atmo Sensor (upper left): Above 4000g. Atmo Sensor (below gas pump): Above 1000g. Thermo Sensor: Below 135. Use steel for the Gas Pump. Note: Radiant liquid pipes help cool the steam turbine.Oxygen Not Included • Cool Steam Vent Setup Taming a cool steam vent seems like a good idea at first, free water and power. However many players quickly …Since heating steam wastes energy, a Self-powered Cool Steam Vent Tamer needs to minimize the amount of energy used heating steam. Hence very targeted steam tile heating using the Conductive Wire Bridges to conduct heat strategically. AT first, I just let it cool into water naturally, then pipe in the hot water directly into electrolyzers. It's much easier to cool the oxygen than the water. Later on I add a cooling loop to cool the oxygen, which also chills a cold box that I used to cool the steam into water. It's at this point that I box the steam vent in an insulate it. This devide decrease incoming liquid temperature by 14C and equivalent of that heat removed is spread around the aquatuner. So it doesn't remove heat, it just moves it from liquid to enviroment surrounding. When the water exits the steam turbine it's still really hot (like 95c hot) and since an electrolyzer will always output hydrogen and oxygen at at least 70c, you never want to feed one with cooler than 70c water, so might as well use the hottest water available in the game and then cool the oxygen (not the hydrogen, because why would you unless you're …Assuming the steam is coming out at 500C, that’ll “burn” 375C as you feed the steam through. That’ll produce an absurd amount of wasted power and extra heat on the turbine. To fix this, you need to cool your steam down to around 250C-300C. To do this, you’ll want to run the steam past enough thermal mass to cool it down.Water from steam vents. Playing the spaced out DLC and my main base is running very low on water. 1. DimaB77 • 2 yr. ago. In my last article (getting water), I studied the volume of each volcano's eruption. On average, a vent of hot steam erupts 2.2kg/sec of steam. Every turbine port absorbs 400gr/sec steam x 7 = 2.8kg/sec steam + 360kg what will fit in the room. That's a lot more than the volcano is erupting. The first answer would obviously be filtering it and using it as a water source, but I already found two cool steam geysers that should provide plenty of clean water without the need for refinement. Mar 16, 2022 · BierTier explains EVERY VENT/GEYSE If there's no steam, no water will replenish the cooling loop. But the temp sensor is in the oil, not in the vacuum, so the aquatuner can continue running regardless of the chamber having steam or not. In the original build, if the Steam Pressure ever reached 1000kg+ per tile, the Liquid Vents would overpressurize, thus ceasing DFD, thus making the Vent also overpressurize. I prevented it by trapping a few grams of Oxygen (or any gas lighter than steam) in the tile where the Liquid Vents are. Now, they are inoverpressurable. No wasted water.
