By the time the airliners fly over my house, they are at least at 10,000 feet for the most part. Many planes from MDW fly over as well. I see ATA Saab340's all the time, probably at 8k or 9k feet. On a clear night, I can see as many as 12 aircraft in the air from my back deck heading East from the Chicago area.
