Decent company, but be prepared for lots of red tape. Engineer (Current Employee) - Tempe, AZ - August 28, 2021. Medtronic is overall a pretty decent employer. Good work/life balance, no calls at night or on weekends. I pretty much work 40 hours/wk (or less) and this is perfectly acceptable.Truly awful leadership. You can't constantly be having layoffs and consider yourself a good leader. That's not how it works. Layoffs are the best sign of truly awful leadership that had to resort to the easiest way of cutting costs because they didn't know how else to improve results. People who are running this place are a joke.
