If I wanted to rebuild it for a spare motor for basfnb's 300 (which is a 4x4) I'd need to get a new 4x4 output shaft, case cover, and what else? Figured if I pick it up I'd have to split cases and do a total rebuild anyhow. Dec 9, 2016 · 92 fourtrax 300 4x4 shifting questions and issues. Hello everyone. I just bought another four-wheeler. a 92 300 4x4, it has a 54% gear reduction installed and was told it also had the ecb dirt racer clutches installed. I have yet to open up the case or anything on this bike. And yes the only thing that needs machined is the center of the big red drive gear to accept either the 300/400/450 bushings. it will still be used with the 300 clutch basket. The bike I got my gear out of was produced on 8/84, the late models come with a 27t gear. honda no longer makes or sells them. A junk yard is your only option.
