The AP varus build doesn't really need magic pen, except for a void staff It's really just about procing blight stacks, and once you get enough AP, 3 blight stacks will do like 90% max HP So ludens won't make much difference because you're mainly just auto auto auto Q, auto auto auto W, auto auto auto R etc.Varus is one of those champions that will always be strong in competitive play because of his long range and utility offered by his R. The Varus buffs this patch make it so that there is less of a focus on his range and more of a focus on his DPS output and R missile speed. I still go lethality Varus in most situations because of the ability to poke out and out damage most bot lanes so I can get ahead. Even against a beefy team a third item lord doms helps.
