Anthony Lukas's good book on Watergate and having all the facts concerning it again in mind, I wondered if I should read this 1991 book since the title suggested it was a right-wing tract possibly defending Nixon, but I am glad I decided to read it. This is hardly news and opposite to the premise of the book that the deep state influences policy actions behind the scenes (a.k.a silent coup). Contrast this with Pakistan where there is no room for doubt on who runs the show. To conclude, the author has missed the bus on what is undoubtedly an important topic in today's times.
