I don't understand the Catmaxx: One day it casts really bad and the next it casts like a $500 reel. Catmaxx is on an 8' Nite Stick and Komodo is on an 8' Battle Cat. As a side note my 12 foot Okuma Longitude rod with Avenger reel snapped the 30 pound line is has on a on cast today. The Catmaxx is loud enough and will alert you. Also, the catmaxx clicker is in a odd place, but not hard to get used to. The carbon drag on the Catmaxx is a three stack set and is very smooth. Not sure how many carbon washers are in the ABU.
