This has recently changed. Customer owned modem/routers need to have moca enabled from the admin settings. Just make sure it supports a gig and supports the most current docsis. That’s for Flex accounts only. X1 with xi6s need an xb3 or xb6. 95% of owned modems do not support moca.Never had an issue with the app but it does seem smoother on the stand alone devices vs built in tvs. I use the Xfinity Stream app on three of my TVs with virtually no issues. I use a Roku Stick+ so i imagine the performance depends on what device you use. Cheaper Rokus will yield worse performance.
