The State of Texas has several disability categories that could be considered low-incidence: Deaf or Hard of Hearing/ Auditory Impairment (AI) Autism (AU) Deaf-Blindness (DB) Intellectual Disability (ID) The function of the program is to promote the development of self-determination behavior through the acquisition of skills in the transition domains of post-secondary education, community participation, employment, and adult living. Students who receive 85% skill acquisition based on program/community assessments will be exited from the program. The incidence of severe or fatal adverse drug reactions is very low (typically < 1 in 1000) and may not be apparent during clinical trials, which are typically not powered to detect low-incidence ADRs.
