In terms of standardization it makes sense, if it's necessary depends on the the size of your base.

Angel bobs has upgraded trains I’m pretty sure, at least seablock does, which is built on BA. I don’t think you’ll ever need 8 lanes because faster trains solve a lot of thruput issues.
