I heard Guha is the best professor to take for CS1 since he writes the foundation exam, but the only professors listed for Spring 2023 are Meade and Ahmed. Guha was decent at lecturing for discrete, however still unnecessarily pushes people's limits. The TA, Thomas Kern, was the absolute worst. He would often mark right HW answers wrong (can't be corrected due to Guha's syllabus policy), and was very sarcastic and passive-aggressive both during virtual office hours and Webcourses submission comments.

Although, Guha does write the foundation exams, so if you're a CS major and REALLY want a professor who brutally forces you to learn the content in order to be ready to take or retake the exam, then I would recommend Guha. I took Steinberg just because CS2 is the last class I needed for my CS minor. UCF offers all the resources you need. Its a big school so its easy to get lost in the crowd and no one will hold your hand, not your advisors or professors. Its normal to be in lecture halls of 450 people and your professor will not know you unless you reach out. This school is amazing if you have the confidence to take advantage of the resources.Best.
