You can do it the same way as the other heat sources you mentioned. Put your container with tainted water into the microwave and turn it on. I think some containers don't clean tainted water when heated, but your common ones like kettles, mugs, and cooking pots will do just fine in a microwave. 8. River water is tainted and would need to be boiled before you drink it. Setting up a rain collector and plumbing it to a sink is better (IMO) because it automatically converts to drinkable water. You could still do this setup near a river and just dump river water into the rain collector for drinkable water without having to boil it.I think you can fill the water dispensers with clean water. You can fit like 20-30 weight in a stove; if you can run a genny you can boil several Cooking Pots full of water for a decent amount.
