Jetting is per the chart.The Smart Carb uses the stock throttle cable, so all you do is thread that into the new throttle cap and hook up the cable to the new slide on the SmartCarb. The carb fits in very easily, and there were no fitment issues. The SmartCarb has two plugs on it. One plugs into the stock TPS plug; the other plugs into the new harness.I used the old mikuni round slide carbs on my bikes and kinda wish I went to lectrons. I saved money of the carb itself, but spent more money on jets tuning those bikes than if I’d just went lectrons to begin with. Hindsight is always 20/20 I reckon. Probably would have been cheaper to go fuel injected as well. 🙄

The power jet solenoid only activates at 8500 rpm’s to plug the circuit leaning the mixture to improve over rev. Unplugging the TPS only makes the CDI run its default mapping. I’ve never known anyone who could tell the difference. Unplugging the power jet solenoid only affects operation above 8500 rpm’s.You can test the float needle valve with the carb off the bike and the bowl removed by lightly holding the rubber tipped needle valve in the seat to see if it seals. If it doesn't, figure out why. If it seals, I'd check and recheck your float height then. I was thinking about getting one or the other of these carbs. Which one would you recommend and why? My quad is an 86 with long rod, spacer plate, FMF pipe, aftermarket reeds.
