You get to a point where you just steamroll them pretty much no matter what you equip. Not the case for Dominion armadas. Great armada crew choices include: Borg Jaylah, the Deep Space 9 crew (Sisko and friends), the TNG crew (Picard and Bev), Eurydice, that epic Klingon borg (forget the name), Voyager people (Chakotay and friends), etc.This setup gives me mitigation on each ship as well as increased critical chance. It also gives me Hull Breach, Burning to maximize my damage.
