The nx4500 takes 4 quarts. But you wil NOT want to use that fluid. there is only 1 fluid that is ok for the syncros in the NV4500, Castrol Syntorque. You an get it ad the Dodge dealer, but it was a little cheaper at the Chevy dealer when I priced it. Go to a dealer and explain to them that you need fluid for an NV4500 trans.You can add oil to higher than the fill plug by pouring the additional oil through the shift tower. I wouldn't fill it too full, but I have seen recommendations to add a little additional oil.
