It's come down to a 2006 VTX 1300 or a 2007 Vulcan Classic. I really like both bikes. The VTX is a little more expensive and it's also a year older. The Vulcan is newer and a little cheaper but it's also a bit smaller than the VTX. The mileage is about the same on both bikes. I have to hold the choke in the pulled out position for about 30 seconds before I can release it, and the idle speed can keep the bike running.Help. I am a new rider and I just bought an 08 vtx 1300c. The speedometer and odometer dont work. Ive read some past threads to get some advice and im still having no luck. I think my speed sensor is the problem. I dont have an owners manual, and I dont know where the speed sensor is located on the bike. Jan 30, 2013 · Starter Switch (gets corroded and needs to be disassembled and cleaned) Kill switch (same as starter switch) Loose battery cables (tighten with a socket, not a screwdriver) Spark plugs. Spark plug wires are known to go bad where they connect to the coil. The 1100 however, is more nimble. Both are more than enough for two-up riding. The 1100 is a dual pin crank, and while that will offer a very smooth running motor, the sound of the 1300 is intoxicating, and I like a little vibration anyway.As I learned on the forum, you have to buy the whole assembly. (Push button starter switch, start/run switch and the housing that holds them to the handle bar. The first step is to remove the 2 screws that hold the switch housing. Looking from below you'll see. Once the housing is off and the switches are free, remove the 2 throttle cable housings.
