In addition, 2,397 highly sought after broodstock were stocked.Trout stocking usually begins in early to mid February and runs through mid-May; about 500,000 trout are released in the spring. As of April 9, DEEP said 165,000 trout have been stocked across the state's approved waterways, "with still more to come." The trout are farmed at Connecticut Fish Hatcheries in Burlington, Kensington and Plainville.Chatfield Hollow is a designated Trout Park, meaning DEEP regularly stocks the park's waters with trophy-size fish from our fisheries.
