The GS I have is extremely smooth all the way from 0-60. The 400 is a bit overkill, but will be MUCH faster than the IS. That being said, the LS430 is a better car in every single aspect. It's tighter, the interior is built a a much better spec, etc. I am a proud Avalon owner, but as far as build quality goes the LS430 is worth EVERY CENT of the price difference.
